Bring in your bookmarks

Import a bookmarks file from any browser, or keep Chrome, Edge or Brave in step with the extension.

There are two ways: a bookmarks file from any browser, once, or the browser extension, which keeps Chrome, Edge or Brave in step. Bookmarks go to Links, with your bookmark folders rebuilt as folders.

From a bookmarks file (any browser)

  1. Export your bookmarks: in Chrome, Edge or Firefox press Ctrl+Shift+O and choose Export; in Safari use File, Export, Bookmarks. You get an .html file.

  2. In KlipVault, open Settings, then Import a file, press Import links and choose Upload a file. In an empty Links section, Import your bookmarks opens the same place.

  3. Pick the file. KlipVault lists its folders under Folders to import 3. Untick any you don't want, and change File into folder if you like.

  4. Press Import N.

  • Up to 10,000 bookmarks per file.
  • Your bookmark folders are rebuilt inside Browser bookmarks, or the folder you named. Leave it empty to put them at the top.
  • Anything already in your library is left exactly as it is.

Live from Chrome, Edge or Brave

  1. Install and connect the browser extension.

  2. In the extension's settings, under Bookmark sync, press Start bookmark sync (it shows once the extension is connected). Tick the folders to sync and press Import now.

  • New, renamed and moved bookmarks in those folders follow by themselves while the browser is open, and catch up when it starts.
  • They land in a folder named after the browser, like Bookmarks – Chrome, with your folders under it.
  • Deleting asks first, both ways: delete a bookmark in the browser, and the extension asks whether to delete it from KlipVault too.
