Connect YouTube

Bring in your liked videos and your YouTube playlists, and keep them up to date with Sync now.

Connecting YouTube lets KlipVault read your liked videos and your playlists. It can only read: it can't post, delete or change anything on YouTube.

  1. Open Settings, then YouTube, and press Connect 1.

  2. Google asks you to choose your account and to allow KlipVault to view your YouTube account. Tick that box: without it nothing can be read. Google may say the app hasn't been verified yet; you can carry on.

  3. Back in KlipVault, press Sync now. Choose what to bring in: tick Liked videos and the playlists you want.

  4. Press Sync N videos. You can close the window while it runs; it carries on.

What comes in

  • The videos go to Videos. Liked videos are filed into a folder called Liked videos.
  • With Make a KlipVault playlist of each one ticked, each YouTube playlist becomes a KlipVault playlist. The videos come in either way.
  • Up to 500 videos a run. Press Sync now again to bring in the rest; nothing is added twice.
  • Nothing syncs by itself: press Sync now whenever you want what is new.

Playlists from other channels

YouTube only lists the playlists you made. For one you saved from another channel, paste its link under Add a playlist by link in the same window, then Add. Public and unlisted playlists work.

An account without a channel

If your Google account has no YouTube channel, your liked videos still sync. YouTube hides your own playlists from apps then, so add each one once by its link; private ones work too. After that, every sync keeps it up to date.

Disconnect

The disconnect button beside the account asks first. Everything already brought in stays in your library; KlipVault stops reading your YouTube account and asks Google to withdraw its access. If YouTube stops accepting the connection, the page says so and offers Reconnect.
