Public pages

A public page lets anyone with its link see a playlist or folder, without an account. Your notes and tags are never on it, and search engines are asked not to list it.

   In Share, open the Public page tab and switch it on 1. Press Copy and send the link however you like.

   Visitors see the videos and can play them right there, one at a time. To join, they press Ask to join 2.

   

On your own website

In Share, open the On your website tab. Choose a layout (Grid, List, One row or Featured, the first one large), How many it shows (the rest are a press away on the public page), and the colours (the visitor's, light or dark). Leave Fit its height on and the frame grows to what it shows, with no scrollbar of its own (the code then carries a few lines of script). The preview beside the choices shows it as you change them. Switch on Play videos here and a video plays inside your site when a visitor presses it, with Previous, Next and Wide / Tall; left off, each opens on its own site in a new tab. Press Copy code and paste it into a page of your site. Switching the public page off empties it.

Suggestions

In Share, open the Suggestions tab and switch on Let visitors suggest, and the page gets Suggest a video (or a link, for a folder). A visitor leaves the link, their name and a note. You see it in your notifications: pressing one opens Suggestions on the playlist, each with its picture, title and channel, and the strip under the playlist's name says how many wait. In each one, Add puts it in your library and in the playlist or folder, Decline drops it. The visitor hears nothing back, and a page takes at most 30 suggestions a day.

Answering an ask

• Someone signed in asks with one press. Someone without an account leaves their name and email, and you see the name, never the address.
• The ask arrives in your notifications and in Share. Choose what they can do, then Approve or Decline.
• Someone new to KlipVault can then sign in on your public page with the address they asked with. That is how you let a friend into KlipVault while it is invite-only.
