Videos that only play on Facebook or Instagram
Why some videos can't play inside KlipVault, why Facebook asks for a tap, and how Instagram videos behave.
Facebook and Instagram decide which of their videos may play on other sites. When they say no, KlipVault shows the video's picture, says why, and offers Open on Facebook or Open on Instagram.
- “This reel uses a licensed song, so it only plays on Instagram.”
- “This has content Facebook won't let other sites show, so it only plays on Facebook.”
- “Facebook won't show this here: it may be private, or deleted.”
KlipVault asks at the moment you press play, so a video can work one day and not the next. In a playlist, such a video is skipped, and KlipVault says which one and why.
Facebook asks for a tap
Some browsers won't let a Facebook video start with sound by itself. Then KlipVault says Click or tap the video to play it with sound. One click or tap on the video starts it.
Instagram videos
- Press play inside Instagram's own frame: it doesn't start by itself.
- A tap while it plays goes to Instagram, not to KlipVault.
- KlipVault doesn't know an Instagram video's length or how far you got. It counts as watched after 5 seconds on screen, and a playlist moves on when you press Skip.
- Instagram videos are always shown tall. A reel shows just its video and joins the Reels feed on a phone.
